Alterna & OCUF Support Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada with $10,000 Donation
Frugina Ball, Region Head, Member Experience GTA, Alterna Savings, was on hand to present Duane Dahl, Regional Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Canada – Central Region with a $5,000 cheque from Alterna’s Community Investment Fund. Ms. Ball also presented a $5,000 matching grant from OCUF.
The $10,000 donation is supporting scholarships to 15 B&GC Ontario students. Many of the students were on hand to accept their scholarships and had the opportunity to appreciate where the funds came from. Congratulations to all recipients and to Alterna Savings for supporting such a great cause.

Soupfest is a community celebration where over 25 quality area restaurants compete for Best Soup, Most Creative Soup, Best Display and the Best Grow Local category. Local celebrities and politicians come out to serve soup and help with the event. There is a Toonie Auction and live entertainment. Soupfest is an exciting community celebration that average 5,000 attendees at this one-day event.
The Soup is made to stir-up big support for Living Rock’s Soupfest 13. FirstOntario Credit Union was a Title Sponsor for the event.
This event is the major annual fundraiser for Living Rock Ministries, a non‐profit youth resource center in Hamilton. Located downtown, Living Rock has been supporting at‐risk and street‐involved youth since 1985. The funds raised through Soupfest are directed to programs, services and resources to youth in need. In 2013 there were more than 29,000 youth visits to the Rock.
OCUF was proud to support FirstOntario’s involvement with a donation of $5,000 for this worthy cause.

Hald-Nor Credit Union’s Campaign Raises $1,075 for the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre
OCUF matched $1,075 for Hald-Nor Credit Union’s campaign to raise money for the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre through the Halloween 4 Hunger campaign at St. Thomas More High school. This was the 13th year the students have run a successful Halloween 4 Hunger campaign with over 750 student participants and another 200 parents, staff and STM grads also volunteering! Hald-Nor Credit Union and OCUF are proud to support this very worthy cause to contribute to the food bank.

March 12, 2015 – The Ontario Credit Union Foundation (OCUF) today announced the appointment of Clayton Shold to the position of Executive Director.
Shold brings more than three decades of proven leadership and business development experience to his new role at OCUF, having held a series of increasingly senior positions with several of Canada’s largest and most prominent financial institutions. In 2009, he decided to bring those leadership skills to the not-for-profit sector, where he has fulfilled a successful mandate as the Executive Director of the Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation.
“On behalf of all of my colleagues on the Board of Directors, I want to convey how absolutely delighted we are to welcome an executive of Clayton’s experience and caliber to this key leadership position at OCUF,” said George De La Rosa, Board Chair.
“I am truly honoured to have been appointed to this role and I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to work with the great team at OCUF and to help chart the future course for this wonderful organization,” said Clayton Shold.
Shold, who assumes his duties as OCUF’s Executive Director on March 16, 2015 will be officially welcomed at the organization’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for March 26, 2015 which is held in conjunction with the Ontario Credit Union Conference.
