CUSYB Campaign

Every year, over 30% of Ontario youth decide not to pursue post-secondary education due to financial barriers.

In a survey conducted by the Ontario University Student Alliance, 61% of post-secondary students expressed concern about not having enough money to complete their studies.

OCUF is helping to address this with $100,000 to be disbursed to post-secondary students across the province.

We think everyone deserves a chance to go to school. In 2024 we raised $78,000 at our golf fundraiser, and Ontario credit unions raised another $12,000 with in-branch campaigns or by becoming a “bursary booster.” Let’s bump this number in 2025!

HOW DO I RAISE FUNDS?

There are two ways to participate in the CU Succeed Youth Bursary Fundraiser, and you can choose to take part in one or both!

1: Giving Week (in-branch promotion)

Select a week (or two or three) in May, April or June that’s convenient for your credit union and raise funds among your employees and members! Leading up to Giving Week, campaign posters can be displayed in-branch to let members know about the exciting opportunity to take part. Employees can also engage members to let them know what they’re raising money for and how they can participate.  You can set up your own peer-to-peer campaign. Create one large team (your credit union), or individual branches can do so and challenge other branches. Take a look here.

2: Become a Bursary Booster

No time to fundraise? No problem! Your credit union can opt to support the CU Succeed Youth Bursary at any of the following levels.

Champion: $5,000
Platinum: $2,500
Gold: $1,000
Silver: $500
