Watch here for how we are doing. Join the campaign!

Every year, over 30% of Ontario youth choose not to pursue higher education because of financial barriers.

We think everyone deserves a chance to go to school. In 2023 we raised $69,585 at our golf fundraiser, and Ontario credit unions raised another $21,250 with in-branch campaigns or by becoming a “bursary booster.” Let’s bump this number in 2024.

INTRODUCING THE 2024 CU SUCCEED YOUTH BURSARY FUNDRAISER

Let’s do more, together! Again this year, we are joining with credit unions across Ontario in support of a single cause: to help more Ontario youth pursue their dreams through educational or vocational training.

Throughout the months of April, May, and June Ontario credit union staff and members are invited to help support the doctors, teachers, and technicians of tomorrow by raising funds to provide education grants to students in financial need.

HOW DO I RAISE FUNDS?

There are two ways to participate in the CU Succeed Youth Bursary Fundraiser, and you can choose to take part in one or both!

1: Giving Week (in-branch promotion)

Select a week (or two or three) in May, April or June that’s convenient for your credit union and raise funds among your employees and members! Leading up to Giving Week, campaign posters can be displayed in-branch to let members know about the exciting opportunity to take part. Employees can also engage members to let them know what they’re raising money for and how they can participate.  You can set up your own peer-to-peer campaign. Create one large team (your credit union), or individual branches can do so and challenge other branches. Take a look here.

2: Become a Bursary Booster

No time to fundraise? No problem! Your credit union can opt to support the CU Succeed Youth Bursary at any of the following levels.

Champion: $5,000
Platinum: $2,500
Gold: $1,000
Silver: $500

You can request a receipt from clayton@ocuf.org.

We wanted to make supporting Ontario youth as easy as possible, so we’ve put together a range of campaign materials for your credit union to help spread the word.
